Serie A preview: Can Juventus bounce back from their disappointing draw and Inter continue their good goal scoring form?

(Football news) After a scintillating week of football last week the Serie A did live upto to the drama it had promised. With Juventus getting held for a surprising draw against Udinese to Inter firing 4 past Genoa and Jose Mourinho’s side getting a commanding win over Fiorentina, Italian football is well and truly back. The top teams all won on the opening week to make the week 2 matches even more interesting.

The former champions Inter take on Hellas Verona away in their second match of the season. Inter answered some critics by putting in a clinical performance against Genoa by scoring 4 very well worked goals to start their title defence. Simone Inzaghi will be hoping for the same against Hellas Verona as his side is further bolstered with the signings of Denzel Dumfries and the imminent signing of Joaquin Correa. Alexis Sanchez is injured and Christian Eriksen continues to be in rehabilitation since collapsing against Finland in the Euro, but the good news will be that Lautaro Martinez might be reinstated in the forward line with Dezko.

Juventus take on Empoli away from their home, Massimiliano Allegri will have lots to think about with his team selection as they’ll mostly likely be without Ronaldo who apparently left training mid way through a mysterious injury. This adds a new twist in his transfer saga as two weeks ago he announced that he was staying at Juventus but now looks to move away from Turin. Allegri would be hoping that all these Ronaldo transfer rumours don't hamper their teams performance as they search for their first victory of the season.

AS Roma take on newly promoted side Salernitana in the second match of the season. Jose Mourinho intends to repeat the clinical performance his team had against Fiorentina so that they can maintain pressure on the top of the table even though it's the beginning of the season. AS Roma will be without Zaniolo as he picked up a red card and most likely be replaced by Stephan El Shaarawy or Eldor Shomurodov but all eyes will be on Tammy Abraham to score his first goal.

AC Milan take on Cagliari in their first home match at the San Siro. After grinding out a hard fought victory against Sampdoria, the Rossoneri will be looking to continue their winning run at home. AC Milan haven't conceded a single goal in 9 matches which equaled their record of 1985, it is the solid defence of Tomori and Kjaer that is acting as a tough barrier for their opponents. Stefan Poli will take a lot of encouragement from his defence and would be hoping that his attackers help their defenders and score more goals.
