Sergio Ramos finally makes PSG debut in 3-1 win against Saint Etienne

(Football news) Sergio Ramos is widely regarded as the greatest center back to have ever played the game. The Spaniard’s strong defensive presence combined with his ridiculous goal scoring record makes him one of the best players of this generation.

In the Galactico era, Ramos came to Real Madrid as a teenager from Sevilla. He slowly made a name for himself in that star studded Real Madrid side and eventually became the best in the world and the captain of his side. After a trophy laden career at the Spanish capital, Ramos joined PSG in July 2021. He came in with a muscular injury that kept him out for the majority of last season. Ramos was named in the PSG squad for the first time in the UCL game against Manchester City where he was an unused sub in the 2-1 defeat.

Mauricio Pochettino started Ramos for the Ligue 1 clash against Saint Etienne. The center back played the full game as PSG won the match 3-1. Ramos as usual gave a solid performance in the heart of the defence. He had a passing accuracy of 94% and completed a whopping 7 out 9 attempted long balls. He also completed a dribble, made 2 tackles and 2 interceptions. The performance is a really good sign for PSG. If Ramos continues to put in performances like this then they will be a considerably better side than they have been so far this season.

Ramos throughout his career has been a heart on the sleeve kind of a player who will fight for his team and teammates. He is a true leader which is exactly what PSG lack in their side. The Spaniard is also good at marching the troops which makes him an invaluable asset. Who better to lead the PSG side to their ultimate dream of winning the coveted UCL title than the man who lifted 3 in a row.
