(Motorsport) Scuderia Ferrari have confirmed that their 2023 Formula 1 car will be revealed on February 14th (Valentine’s Day). The most successful team in F1 history will reveal their car a day after Aston Martin, who will feature Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso after Sebastian Vettel retired.
The Italian manufacturer is yet to announce further details about the unveiling, the location and the name of their new car with the current project name being 675. However, given their history with car launches, it’s expected to be a grand affair and they will undoubtedly look to build on their 2022 season where they finished second in the Constructors and Drivers Standings.
Scuderia Ferrari started off the 2022 season well, winning multiple races but a combination of reliability and strategy failures meant that they couldn’t compete with Max Verstappen and Red Bull for the World Championship. The moment it became clear that Ferrari couldn’t win the title, they began concentrating on the development of the 2023 car and will be hoping to go one step forward under the leadership of former Alfa Romeo boss Fred Vasseur to win the coveted title in 2023.
While there are no significant changes in car design for the next year, all the cars will have a higher ride height to prevent porpoising and it could also help improving performance. Pre-season testing will begin in Bahrain on February 23rd and the season will begin on March 3-5 at the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain.
