(Sports news) In the early rounds of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the Indian delegation has been giving remarkable results in a variety of categories. The Indian men’s volleyball team put on an outstanding performance in their triumph over a higher-ranked Chinese Taipei team. In the quarterfinals, they will face Japan, a two-time World Championship winner.
Table Tennis saw great performances from both the men’s and women’s teams on September 22 (Friday). The Indian men’s squad won two games against Singapore and Yemen. They will attempt to carry that energy into Saturday’s game against Tajikistan. The Indian women’s team, on the other hand, was outstanding, defeating Singapore 3-2 in a hard-fought battle. Nepal is their next opponent, and Manika Batra’s side will seek to repeat their performance.
Sailing, in which several Indian sportsmen have competed, will also be in the spotlight. The spotlight will be on Vishnu Saravan, who is racing in the men’s dinghy ILCA7 and currently leads the tournament after four races.
The 23rd of September is an important day, although it will not be filled with much activity. The Asian Games 2023 will begin at 5:30 p.m. IST at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.
