Santos FC has formally announced an international friendly against RB Leipzig of Germany, which is scheduled for May 28 at the Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium in Bragança Paulista. This is an amazing step for Brazilian football.  Fans and players alike are excited about this momentous occasion, which is the first time a Bundesliga team has been to Brazil in more than 25 years.

“This friendly against RB Leipzig will be tremendously significant for Santos,” said Pedro Martins, CEO of Santos, in reference to the match’s significance for the team.  In addition to being in line with our objectives of internationalizing the club, we will be playing one of the best teams in Europe.  Two powerful brands that are dedicated to developing young talent and promoting exciting, visually appealing football will come together in this match.  The Santos team sees this match as a chance to take on fierce European opposition.

RB Leipzig is going to South America as part of their “Tamo Junto Brasil Tour.” Their last official game was against Stuttgart on May 17.  “During our summer tour last year, we were the face of the Bundesliga in the USA,” said Executive Director Johann Plenge.  Our next destination is Latin America, where we want to motivate local supporters.  One of the most important markets for Red Bull, Puma, and the Bundesliga is Brazil.  Training sessions and other events will be part of the May 23–May 30 visit, which will finish with the eagerly awaited friendly match.

Jürgen Klopp, the famous manager, could return to Brazil for the second time in less than four months with this upcoming game.  The legendary former Liverpool coach went in Brazil in January to observe the Red Bull Brigade’s game versus Palmeiras.  Following his departure from Liverpool at the end of the previous campaign, Klopp embarked on a new chapter in his remarkable career by taking on the position of General Director for the Red Bull teams.

The Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium, which can accommodate 12,000 spectators, will host this exciting matchup, which is anticipated to get a lot of attention and become a football calendar highlight.  Santos FC, a team with a rich history, is eager to prove itself against a strong foe, highlighting the strong bond and spirit of competition between European and Brazilian football.
