(Football news) AC Milan have announced the contract renewal of Italian International Sandro Tonali till 2027. After spending some time in the academy of Piacenza, Tonali moved to Brescia where he finished his footballing education and was promoted to the senior team. Tonali made his mark in the Serie B in 2017 and quickly saw him secure a starting spot in the playing XI. In the next season, he helped Brescia win the Serie B title.
Tonali made his Serie A debut the following season as his constant good performances earned him a spot in the Italian national team. By that time, Tonali was getting termed as one of the best prospects in the world and got offers from many clubs. However, Tonali made the right choice and decided to join AC Milan on loan. The Italian giants are repaying their trust in the midfielder as he has signed a long term extension contract with them. Tonali’s new contract clauses will now keep him in the club till 2027.
Earlier, the midfielder rejected big money moves to the Premier League as he decided to stay at AC Milan to fulfil his dream of winning the UCL with the Rossenari. After spending one season with the Rossoneri he went onto sign a permanent contract in 2021 and agreed to lower his salary as well. The midfielder then played a key role in AC Milan’s title-winning campaign and became one of the fan favourites in the Red and Black part of Milan. He has now signed a one-year extension on his existing contract which was till 2026 and it is believed that he has got a big raise. Tonali will earn somewhere around €3 million from now on.
Tonali has often been termed the successor of Andrea Pirlo as his playing style is pretty similar to Pirlo. Just like Pirlo, Tonali is very strong, fast and energetic, on top of that he is technically one of the best players in the world. His vision, creativity, and passing range are also immaculate. So far in this season, the 22-year-old midfielder has already featured in four Serie A matches and has one assist after his name. He hopes he can inspire his side to defend the Scudetto.
