(Football News) Al-Hilal has made a substantial £47m bid to secure the services of Wolves’ captain, Ruben Neves, in what would be a club record deal. The Portugal midfielder, whose contract with Wolves concludes after the upcoming season, is expected to finalize his move to the Saudi Arabian club this week. Despite interest from Barcelona, a transfer agreement with Ruben Neves has not yet been reached, providing Al-Hilal with an opportunity to present their lucrative offer. Al-Hilal has also made an enticing contract offer to Chelsea’s forward, Romelu Lukaku. However, their attempts to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid were unsuccessful, despite reportedly offering him a substantial three-year contract valued at £170m.
The proposed transfer fee of £47m for Neves would surpass the previous record fee of £40m paid by Liverpool for the acquisition of Diogo Jota in 2020.
