(Football news) Having joined Liverpool in June 2015 from Hoffenheim for £29m and has had a successful stint at the club, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and the Club World Cup, scoring 107 goals and providing 70 assists in 353 appearances. 

Manager Jurgen Klopp said that he wanted Firmino to remain at Liverpool but the forward has decided to move on despite discussions regarding a new contract. The Brazilian has had limited game time this season due to injuries as well as the presence of Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

Firmino has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success in recent years, playing in the centre of the iconic trio comprising Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. He played a big role in Liverpool winning the Premier League for the first time in 30 years during the 2019-20 season. 

This season, Firmino has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions. He didn’t feature in Brazil’s squad for the Qatar World Cup 2022 and was injured when the Premier League resumed before featuring as a substitute against Everton on 13 February.
