(Football news) Real Betis is in seventh place after taking in 25 points from their first 15 games, while Real Madrid has won three straight in the top flight of Spain, helping them reclaim the top spot from surprise package Girona.

Betis is in a solid position in their Europa League group heading into the last matchday. They won their Copa del Rey match against Villanovense 2-1, advancing them to the third round of the competition. This weekend, they will take that winning mentality into the match.

With nine points, Pellegrini’s team leads Group C, one point ahead of Rangers in second place and two ahead of Sparta Prague in third. The last games of the season will take place on December 14.

Betis is currently in seventh place in the table with 25 points, just three points behind Athletic Bilbao in fifth place after 15 La Liga games this season. They have a record of six wins, seven draws, and two losses from their 15 games played. However, their most recent encounter ended in a goalless draw against basement team Almeria.

The only teams with fewer league losses than Real Betis this season are the top three, Real Madrid, Girona, and Barcelona (all one). However, at this point, too many draws have kept them from finishing in the top four.

In the top division of Spain, Real Betis has not triumphed over Real Madrid since March 2020. However, in the 2022–2023 season, the two clubs drew goallessly, and Pellegrini’s squad has won its past four league games in front of their own fans.

On the other hand, Real Madrid comes into this game fresh from a 2-0 La Liga triumph over Granada, with Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo scoring for the home team at Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite the fact that Real Madrid is now without a number of key players due to injuries, they have won their previous five games, including two Champions League victories that have guaranteed them a berth in the round of sixteen.

Next week, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will travel to Germany for their last group-stage match against Union Berlin; but, the Spanish team won’t be under any pressure.

Real Madrid has won seven and drawn two of its nine La Liga games since losing 3-1 at Atletico Madrid on September 24. With 38 points, they lead the table, but their advantage is limited to the head-to-head record between the two teams, where they are tied with Girona in second place.
