(Football news) Presently, Real Madrid are two points behind Girona, the unexpected leaders, in second place in the league. Meanwhile, an ineffective Cadiz are in 16th place, three points clear of the relegation zone.

Cadiz has struggled to get traction in La Liga this year, with a record of two victories, four draws, and six losses from their 12 games. With 10 points, they are now ranked 16th in the standings.

The team’s offensive woes have continued this season as they have only managed 10 goals in 12 games, the lowest attacking record in the division. However, they have played quite well defensively, giving up just 17 goals, which is far from catastrophic at this point in the season.

Gonzalez’s team defeated Badalona in the Copa del Rey earlier this month. However, they went into the international break fresh off a 1-0 La Liga loss to Getafe; their previous triumph in the top division of Spain was against Villarreal at the beginning of September.

Even though they have a game in hand on most of the teams in the division, Cadiz has lost five and drawn three of their last eight league games, leaving them just three points above the relegation zone.

El Submarino Amarillo, who placed 14th in La Liga the previous year, is most known for their October 2020 Bernabeu victory over Real Madrid. However, in 2023–24, they suffered two losses to Los Blancos, most notably a 2-0 setback in Nuevo Mirandilla in the matchup.

Real Madrid has suffered a lot of injuries over the international break. Two key players, Eduardo Camavinga and Vinicius Junior, have ailments that will keep them out until the early months of next year.

With 12 points out of a possible 12 in Group C, Los Blancos has already advanced to the Champions League knockout stage. As a result, they are not under any pressure heading into their remaining two group stage matches against Union Berlin and Napoli.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, is catching up in La Liga; after 13 games, they have 10 victories and 2 ties, placing them second in the standings.

Before the winter break, a lot might happen for Carlo Ancelotti’s team. They are now two points behind Girona, the league leaders, and just two clear of third-place Barcelona. Atletico Madrid, in fourth place, is only four points behind them with one game remaining.
