(Football news) The Spanish Super Cup final will have an El Clasico. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona didn’t have the best performance in the semi final as they needed penalties to win. Last time the two sides met in the Super Cup was last year in the semi final where Real Madrid won 3-2 in extra time. Real Madrid will be hoping to win their 2nd consecutive Spanish Super Cup whereas Barcelona will be hoping to win a trophy after one and a half year.

Real Madrid have quite a few injury issues going into the final. David Alaba and Aurélien Tchouaméni continue to be on the sidelines. Lucas Vazquez suffered an injury in the last game against Valencia and he will be out for month and a half. There are doubts on the fitness of Eder Militao and Eduardo Camavinga who were forced to come off in the last game.  Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy came on in the last game even when they weren’t fully fit according to Ancelotti. It will be interesting to see if they are fit to play the final. Alvaro Odriozola who wasn’t in the squad in the last match is likely to return to the bench.

As for Barcelona they have their full squad available. According to reports Ronald Araujo will start at right back to keep Vinicius Jr in check which is a tough task. Barcelona will have to find a way to keep Karim Benzema and Vinicius quite and it will take a lot of effort. Real Madrid’s defence have problems of their own as they have been really poor this season. Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele are the obvious threats in attack. The key battle amidst all this will be between two brilliant midfields.
