(Cricket News) Former India and Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu is on track to become the second Indian player to partake in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) following his inclusion in the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad.

Rayudu, who featured for CSK in the 2023 IPL season, has committed to representing the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots as their key player, according to a report by ESPNcricinfo.

Following his IPL stint, the 37-year-old’s post-tournament activities revealed his addition to the roster of CSK’s affiliated team, Texas Super Kings, for the Major Cricket League in the United States.

Nonetheless, Rayudu opted out of involvement in the MLC following the Indian cricket board’s announcement of considering a cooling-off period policy for players. This policy aims to discourage players from engaging in overseas leagues immediately after retiring.

Nevertheless, a decision from the BCCI regarding this issue is still pending. Should Rayudu secure a spot in a match, he would follow in the footsteps of Pravin Tambe as the second Indian player to participate in the CPL.
