Ravindra Jadeja and Faf du Plessis set to cross milestones in final match of IPL

(Cricket news) Chennai Super Kings will see two of its players reach milestones in terms of matches played. Ravindra Jadeja has so far played 199 matches at the Indian Premier League and will become the 6th player to play 200 or more matches. MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina are the only other players in the team to cross the 200 matches mark.

 

Ravindra Jadeja has been part of IPL since its entry into cricket, he has picked up 125 wickets and has scored 2386 runs so far. He made his debut playing for Rajasthan Royals and has played for Gujarat Lions and Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the league. Jadeja scored 295 runs in the 2011 season which has been his highest ever since and in terms of wickets he picked up 19 wickets in the 2014 season.

 

Jadeja has so far scored 227 runs and picked up 11 wickets in fifteen matches. In the team’s fifth match, Jadeja smashed 5 sixes and a four in a single over bowled by Harshal Patel of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match saw Jadeja record his highest score of 62* in the league and in the same match took three wickets for 13 runs in his four over spell which also included a direct hit run out of Dan Christian. He has bowled 95 dot balls this season and is currently one of the best all rounders in the game. Jadeja is also one of the best fielders in the team with a bullet throw.

 

Faf du Plessis is set to play his 100th match in the final and will become the 10th overseas player in history to reach the mark. He made his debut in IPL in 2012 scoring 398 runs for Chennai and this year had crossed the 500 run mark for the first time in a season. He has so far scored 547 runs this season and overall is 51 runs short of 2900 runs in IPL. Faf du Plessis is currently the fourth highest run getter this season with one more match to go and is only four runs behind Shikhar Dhawan of Delhi Capitals.

 

Faf du Plessis and Jadeja will look to play their milestone match in the best way possible as it has come at the perfect timing. Both the players have made their mark in the shorter format and will look to guide the team on 15th October.
