Rajasthan Royals Unveil Academy in New Jersey

(Cricket News) The Rajasthan Royals, a team owned by the Royals Sports Group, today announced the opening of their first academy in the United States, to be located in Cranbury, New Jersey. The announcement was made in front of Siddhartha Lahiri, Head of Academy Coaching for the Royals, who led masterclasses with over 50 aspiring cricket players and an in-service training session with the academy’s highly skilled coaches.

The Royals open their first Academy outside of North America at the RR Academy in New Jersey. One of the few cricket centres in the US that have both an indoor and outdoor space, with the latter allowing year-round use, is the newest addition to the Royals’ Academy complex.

The academy is situated 500 meters away from the outdoor facility, which is a full-sized ground with six batting lanes, bowling machines, and other top-notch cricket equipment. The indoor facility is 10,000 square feet.

The Academy wants to help the young talent in the nation develop more quickly because there is a noticeable surge in interest in the sport in the United States and because the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is coming later this year.

By using its effective academy coaching model, which has recently helped England find a young spinner in Shoaib Bashir, the franchise hopes to develop local internal coaches first and provide them with all the tools they need to teach the kids the renowned Royals philosophy and coaching techniques.

In addition, the coaching programs will teach kids all the fundamentals as well as creative stroke play, power hitting, adaptable bowling, wicket keeping, and dynamic fielding. Additionally, there will be a special emphasis on T20 innovations, with a particular goal of motivating, enthusing, and developing future cricket players who may participate in the IPL.

Like all other Academies affiliated with the Royals, children enrolled at RR Academy New Jersey will have access to global tournaments organized by RRA, feedback from the team’s knowledgeable coaches, a visit to the franchise’s High Performance Center in Nagpur, India, and, should their performance warrant it, an opportunity to try out for the Royals.
