Queensland fights back, as the game remains evenly poised

Sheffield Shield clash between South Australia and Queensland has moved on in a fast pace on the second day as the visitors Queensland fought back, inflicting a late collapse over South Australia. Queensland have to chase down a target of 206 with 3 days still remaining in the game.

Test wicketkeeper Alex Carey scored 90 as he helped South Australia earn a 205-run lead. He stitched a wonderful 119-run stand along with Jake Lehmann. Lehmann on the other hand scored a valuable 58 runs off 114 balls to accompany his senior-mate.

At one point the hosts were looking well in control of the game, however they lost six wickets in the final session which allowed Queensland with a window to comeback into the contest and try and register their second win of the season.

South Australia were out for 232 in their second innings. They lost 5 wickets for just 18 runs after Steketee dismissed the dangerous looking Carey, 10 runs short of yet another first-class century. McAndrew scored 24 crucial runs to the hosts to a lead of 205 runs.

All the Queensland bowlers chipped in with the ball. Steketee scalped 3 wickets, while Neser got 3 as well, cleaning up the tail quickly. Bartlett and Sandhu on the other hand took 2 wicket each.

Queensland will now want a good batting display from Marnus Labuschange, who is captaining the Bulls in a Shield match for the first time, and fellow Australian batter Matt Renshaw to give them a chance of securing their second win of the season.
