PSG’s search for supremacy in the UCL continues with 4 new signings

The pandemic has caused some serious financial issues at some of the biggest clubs in world football. According to the latest football news, the likes of Juventus and Barcelona are struggling to manage their finances. The Catalan giants are yet to register their new signings and Messi’s new contract is on hold due to financial issues at the club. In such circumstances where clubs are struggling to manage wages, PSG’s search for supremacy in the UCL continues with 4 new signings.

PSG’s recent history is full of trophies but they are yet to lay their hands on the elusive Champions League. They lost to Bayern Munich in the 2020 Champions League final and are desperate to bring the UCL trophy home. The financial power of PSG has helped them sign some of the biggest superstars in the recent past. They paid over 200 million euros for Neymar, around 150 million for Mbappe, and as per the latest football transfer news they have signed Hakimi for around 70 million euros.

PSG have a team full of superstars and luring players is no longer an issue at the club. How do they manage their wage bill and avoid violating the financial fair play rules is a topic of debate. When all the European giants were trying to manage their wage bills, PSG went into the market and signed Wijnaldum, Donnarumma, Hakimi and Ramos.

PSG snatch Wijnaldum from Barcelona

Wijnaldum’s contract at Liverpool wasn’t renewed and the player was on his way to Barcelona. He was about to sign a contract with the Catalan giants that would fetch him around 5 million a year. PSG came out of nowhere and hijacked the deal. The football transfer news from various reliable sources suggests that they offered him almost double the wage and he decided to join them instead.

Free-agent Donnarumma joins PSG in search of European Glory

Donnarumma is a 22-year-old goalkeeper with over 250 appearances for club and country combined. He has over 200 appearances for AC Milan and is rated very highly by some of the best in the business. PSG didn’t really need a first-team keeper as they already had Keylor Navas in their ranks but they decided to go ahead with the deal in order to further strengthen their team. Donnarumma was desperate to join a club that regularly features in the UCL and PSG once again manages to lure a top-top talent.

PSG pay 71 million euros for Achraf Hakimi

Hakimi is rated as one of the most lethal wing-backs in the game. At the age of 22, he is a long-term prospect for PSG. He has had a lot of success at Dortmund and Inter Milan in the previous years. Inter Milan’s financial struggles meant that they had to sell one of the best players even after winning the Scudetto last year. As soon as Hakimi was in the market, PSG had their eyes on him and managed to close the deal at 71 million euros.

El Capitan joins PSG

One of the most successful captains in the history of the Champions League is now a part of PSG. Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has said goodbye to the Los Blancos after a 16-year long spell. Ramos has won the UCL four times and was the captain of the team when they won three UCL in consecutive years. He is a big bargain for PSG even at this age as he brings tons of experience and will help them fill the void left by Thiago Silva. His leadership skills might just take PSG all the way.

With the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria, Verratti, and Marquinhos already at the club, it seems as if PSG owners have assembled the Avengers to win the UCL. The transfer window is far from over and PSG are still linked with the likes of Pogba and Ronaldo. They are also in talks with Everton for Moise Kean. PSG have often been questioned for the money they spent but as long as they don’t break the financial fair play rules they are good to go. PSG’s search for supremacy in the UCL continues with 4 new signings but will the Avengers help them win the UCL is something that will excite all football fans across the globe.
