(Cricket news) The U19 World cup winning captain and and the young Indian opener Prithvi Shaw is all set to make a comeback on the field after a long injury layoff. Shaw has been included in the Mumbai Ranji squad after getting a clearance from the NCA.
Shaw has been away from the game, since August of the previous year due to a knee ligament injury. He has added to the Ranji squad ahead of Mumbai’s game against Bengal which will take place at the Eden Gardens.
Earlier NCA wanted to increase his volume of workload to test his preparedness which led to a delay in his return to action. The NCA had informed the MCA, stating, “Prithvi Shaw is progressing well in his batting and fielding drills. He will undergo higher volumes of acceleration, change of direction, and agility drills over the next 3 weeks to develop the required robustness for his injured knee ligament before making a return to sports.”
He finally got a clearance to play competitive cricket from the NCA and will now join his team in Kolkata for their upcoming game.
