(Cricket news) England’s most experienced spinner in this tour Jack Leach is all set to miss the 2nd IDFC Test match to be played at Vizag. The idea of playing an all-spin attack against India will have to wait due to Leach’s absence.
The English spinner hit his left knees twice, while fielding in the boundary and further aggravated the injury by bowling in the 4th innings of the First test match. He did not bowl during the practice session in Visakhapatnam, just two days before the Test match. He was clearly limping and was observed getting treatment on the sidelines of England’s training session.
Although Shoaib Bashir’s arrival helps England with a potential replacement, but England will certainly miss the experience that Leach brings to the table. Bashir after impressing the management in UAE will make his International debut in the second test at Vizag.
“He’s a great kid, he’s got a lot about him,” Zak Crawley said of Bashir. “He knows what he is trying to do with his bowling, and he backs himself. “I like that and feel like if he got his chance in this series he would go well.”
