Perez of Real Madrid plan to bring Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho, a winger for Manchester United, is supposedly someone Florentino Perez of Real Madrid wants to try to sign in the future
Madrid

(Football news) Garnacho has already been in the city for a while; during his youth years, he played with Atletico Madrid for five years, from 2015 to 2020. But the 19-year-old’s senior career has been at Old Trafford for the whole of it, and he has grown to be an important player for the team.

From 74 games in all competitions, he has produced 12 goals and 9 assists, with three of the goals and five of the assists coming from the Premier League this season. There is a sense that the Argentina international is considered a long-term member of the team, even if Erik ten Hag stays in charge.

That is partly due to Garnacho having penned a contract extension as recently as last April, tying him to the Red Devils until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.

Nevertheless, with his development on an upward trajectory, Garnacho is always going to be linked with a future move to another top European club. Perez wants that team to be Real Madrid once Garnacho has entered his twenties.

The report claims that Perez and fellow Los Blancos officials have already been watching Garnacho’s performances with the view of trying to sign him in one of the upcoming transfer windows.

Perez is said to be keen to hold a conversation with Garnacho when Real Madrid travel to Manchester for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie next month.

Whether any informal talks are held remains to be seen, Garnacho likely to be focused on his and United’s preparation for an FA Cup semi-final with Coventry City later that week.

An approach by the club is unlikely to be imminent with acquiring the services of Kylian Mbappe to join the likes of Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior the current focus of Real.

That said, Garnacho’s previous experience of the city may eventually aid Real’s pursuit, even though they would face the prospect of paying a big-money fee to acquire a player who has the potential to become United’s most prized asset.
