The Tokyo Olympics 2021 from day one is looking at records tumble as the water events splashed on the previous best timings at the Olympics. Rowing has been a part of the Olympics since 1900 and Women’s rowing was added in 1976. The Sea Forest Waterway where all the rowing action is taking place saw Olympic best times being beaten twice in just a gap of 20 minutes in Men’s Double Sculls. In Men’s Double Sculls heat 1 Boucheron Hugo and Androdias Matthieu from France bettered the Olympic Best by recording a time of 6:10:45, little less than 20 mins later in heat 3 Twellaar Melvin and Stef Broenink from the Netherlands team beat  the timing by recording 6:08:38.

In Men’s Single Sculls 18 competitors qualified for the Quarterfinals in 6 heats and the remaining 18 have qualified for a second chance when they race in the three repechages which will be held tomorrow. In the Women’s Single Sculls 18 competitors have qualified for the quarterfinals in 6 heats and the remaining 14 have qualified in the three repechages which will be held tomorrow.

In Men’s Double Sculls the Olympic was bettered twice in a matter of minutes. In three heats 9 countries qualified for the semifinals and the rest 4 have qualified for the repechage which will take place tomorrow. In the Women’s Double Sculls 9 countries have qualified for the semifinals in 3 heats and 4 have qualified for repechages taking place tomorrow.

In Men’s Quadruple Sculls Four countries have qualified for the Finals and the rest 6 have qualified for the repechage which will take place on the 25th of July. In the Women's Quadruple Sculls Four countries have qualified for the Finals and the other 6 will compete in the repechage which will be held on 25th July.

India’s Lightweight Men's Double Sculls team of Arvind Singh and Arjun Lal Jat will compete on 24th July in heats 2 against Uruguay, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Ireland. Their timing has been changed from 8 am to 11 am.

In the Olympic 2021 Live update there has been a change in certain races that were scheduled on Saturday, 24 July, Sunday, 25 July and Monday, 26 July due to expected adverse weather conditions on Monday, 26 July.
