Odisha FC’s Jersey Launch and Season Opening Press Conference– 2023/24

Odisha Football Club (OFC) conducted their season-opening press conference and kit launch at the Kalinga Stadium on Monday, 11th September 2023. The club geared up for an exciting fifth season as they set their sights on the upcoming season and introduced the new kit along with its theme.

(Football News) Odisha FC’s Jersey Launch, which promised to be a grand affair, featured the participation of the club’s Head Coach – Sergio Lobera, and other key officials, including Santosh Kashyap – Head of Youth Development, Abhik Chatterjee – General Manager, Ravi Khedar – Head of Business, Club.

Captains: Amrinder Singh (Captain) and Roy Krishna (Captain). Mr. Siddhartha Das, IAS,
Director- DSYS and Mr. Bijayananda Nayak, OAS, Joint Secretary, DSYS graced the occasion
as Chief Guests. The DSYS Officials were felicitated with the season’s new jerseys from Odisha
FC.

Player Kits:
Home Kit (Black & Purple): This kit embodies the principles of minimalism and simplicity,
appealing to the younger generation’s preference for “less is more”. It reflects their clean and
straightforward style, where everything runs in straight lines. For them, simplicity is the ultimate
sophistication.

Away Kit (White): The white kit pays homage to Odisha’s rich roots and culture, emphasizing
grace, purity, and simplicity. We take pride in our heritage and ethos, valuing grace and purity
as our style statement. This kit serves as a representation of our history in our daily lives.

Third Kit (Yellow & Purple): The third kit draws inspiration from the Simlipal Tiger Reserve,
located in the Indian state of Odisha. This reserve is one of the country’s premier wildlife
conservation areas and a vital stronghold for the Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris).

Odisha FC – Previous season achievement
In the previous season, Odisha FC had demonstrated their prowess by clinching the Super Cup
2023 championship. This victory had also earned them a well-deserved spot in the prestigious
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2023/24. In ISL season 2022/23 the club qualified for
the play off very first time and ended their journey 6th position in league table.

Odisha FC will kick off their season with home matches, beginning their AFC Cup 2023/24
journey against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on September 19, followed by an ISL 2023/24 game
against Chennaiyin FC on September 23 at the iconic Kalinga Stadium.

Grassroots & Community
Odisha FC is committed to grassroots and community development with the help of the Odisha
Government and Reliance Foundation. The club has planned to organize numerous grassroots
football tournaments and extend its support to community football programs. These initiatives
aim to promote football as a healthy and inclusive activity for all, regardless of age or
background. Our main aim is to stay connected with the local community and foster the growth
of football within the state.
