(Tennis news) Novak Djokovic could miss out on the Indian Wells and Miami Open after the United States of America has made proof of vaccination mandatory to enter the country until April 10th. The Indian Wells will take place from March 6th to 19th while the Miami Open will be played from March 20th to April 2nd. Djokovic could not participate in the two events last year due to his decision to remain unvaccinated and if the USA decides to extend the rule beyond April 10th, he could potentially miss out on the US Open as well.

Djokovic was deported from Australia last year due to his vaccination status and was initially handed a three year ban from the country, which was waived off in November. He is now set to participate in the Australian Open, an event he has won eight times in the past. The Serbian is currently participating in the Adelaide international and has received a warm welcome from Australian fans as he looks to build momentum before the Grand Slam event. Victory at the Australian Open will mean that he will be level with Rafael Nadal with 22 Grand Slams, the most by any male tennis player in history.
