(Football news) N’Golo Kante has agreed a 2 year deal with an option for another year with Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad. The Frenchman will earn €100 million per season including image rights, commercial deals and ‘creative’ portfolio. N’Golo Kante will be the second big name to join Al Ittihad after Ballon D’or winner Karim Benzema. The Saudi Arabian league has been moving forward really quickly ever since the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo. There will be even more signings with Sergio Ramos, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets among others being linked with a move to the league.
N’Golo Kante a couple of years ago was up there with the best midfielders in the world. However, recently he has been struggling with injuries that have prevented him from playing football regularly. N’Golo Kante’s Chelsea contract was due to end after this season but he was close to agreeing a new deal. The midfielder also publicly expressed his desire to stay but things have changed very quickly. Money would’ve definitely played a big part but if Chelsea had pushed a little harder then the situation may be different. Kante has been immensely successful at Chelsea over the years as he established himself as a world class player.
N’Golo Kante’s injury record is a little bit of concern as far as Al Ittihad are considered. However if he does stay fit then he will be a huge signing to the team. Kante in midfield with Benzema up top is a lethal addition to a team that are league champions. Kante’s career in Europe has been short-lived as compared to the other great midfielders. However in his prime Kante was unplayable at Chelsea and at Leicester City.
