Neymar Sidelined Again: 4-6 Weeks

Neymar, a striker for Santos, just had another injury.  The attacker had to leave the field in the 34th minute of the Brazilian Serie A match against Atlético Mineiro (2:0).

 Santos issued the following statement about the player’s health:

“Neymar returned to games following his recuperation from a muscle injury and while exercising to build muscle mass. However, during the first half of Santos’ triumphant encounter against Atlético Mineiro, he developed new pain in his left thigh.

 Upon investigation, it was discovered that he had sustained a new injury, this time to his hamstring.  Regarding the prior injury to another muscle, there has been no recurrence, and the Fish’s number ten has already begun treatment at the training facility,” Santos’ statement stated.

Neymar is anticipated to be out for four to six weeks, according to ESPN.
