(Football news) The 31-year-old is valued at €80 million ($88 million) by PSG, but insiders claim that talks between the teams are going well.
According to additional sources, Neymar is expected to agree to a two-year, €100 million contract with Al Hilal, where he might team up with Kalidou Koulibaly, Rben Neves, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Due to rumours of a transfer away from the club, the Brazil international was left out of PSG’s squad for their opening Ligue 1 match of the season on Saturday, a scoreless draw against Lorient.
Returning to Barcelona has been suggested, and Sergi Roberto, the club’s captain, even claimed to have spoken with Neymar about it.
Neymar is eager to return to Barcelona this summer, according to a report earlier this week. However, there is internal discussion at the club about the forward’s signing, with some supporting the move and others including coach Xavi Hernandez believing he would not fit into this Barca team.
Neymar’s departure would please PSG, who on Saturday acquired striker Ousmane Dembélé from Barcelona. A transfer is unlikely given the club’s financial difficulties and Xavi’s reluctance to his return.
Neymar has won 13 domestic titles overall since arriving in France in 2017, five Ligue 1 championships, and came in second in the 2020 Champions League final.
