(Basketball news) The Milwaukee Bucks stunned the Dallas Mavericks as Brook Lopez scored in the last second to get 106-105 win. For the Bucks, Antetokounmpo had 28 points when he fouled out with 2:55 remaining, ending his eight-game run with at least 30 points while Khris Middleton scored 19 points and Jrue Holiday had 17 points. For the Bucks, Doncic had 33 points and 11 assists as Spencer Dinwiddie scored 15 points, and Christian Wood had 14 points and nine rebounds. The Bucks inbounded from near their bench, and Lopez slipped behind a screen from Khris Middleton for the easy bucket with seven seconds remaining on the throw-in from George Hill.

”We practice free throws all the time,” Dallas coach Jason Kidd said after his team’s three-game winning streak ended. ”It’s just unfortunate that we didn’t make them at the right time.”

”Great screen by Khris, great catch by Brook, you’ve got to have a great inbounder in George,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said. ”The vision to see it and get the ball to Brook. Heck of a finish.”

”I wanted to give Luke a chance,” Kidd said. ”We had too many people run to screen for him so it was a little crowded for him to be able to execute.”

The Los Angeles Lakers lost their third successive game after the Philadelphia 76ers beat them at overtime 133-122. For the 76ers, Joel Embiid had 38 points and 12 rebounds, Melton scored a career-high 33 points off the bench. For the Lakers, Anthony Davis had 21 of his 31 points in the fourth and finished with 12 rebounds, while LeBron James scored 23 points as Russell Westbrook had 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, joining Magic Johnson as the only Laker with a triple-double off the bench. The 76ers with this result improved their record to 13-12 and moved 6th in the standings.

”We will take the win,” 76ers coach Doc Rivers said. ”Usually when you give up a lead like that, to gather yourself and play well in overtime is rare.”

”I don’t know anybody that makes two and misses one,” Reaves said. ”It sucks to miss. I’m sure my mom will be frustrated with me for missing a free throw.”

”I felt like a football coach when the guy has a field goal,” at the end, Rivers said. ”I hope he misses one of the field goals. He did. We got it to overtime, which is an amazing statement. Really. That should never happen.”
