(Football news) After losing their first two matches to Real Madrid and Braga, the Bundesliga team is now bottom of the section with zero points, while Napoli is in second place with three of the six points remaining.

Union Berlin qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history by finishing fourth in the Bundesliga the previous season. However, they have already lost their first two matches in the competition due to late heartbreak.

In fact, on matchday one, Jude Bellingham gave Real Madrid a late lead at Bernabeu, but the German team lost 3-2 after letting a two-goal lead slip away against Braga. The Portuguese squad then scored their third goal in the 94th minute of play.

Since the Iron Ones have dropped eight of their first 11 games across all competitions, there is no denying that they have had an incredibly challenging start to the season.

After winning their first three games of the 2023–24 season, Union Berlin has lost all eight of their subsequent games, including Bundesliga losses to Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund, since their previous European match. They are presently ranked 15th in the Bundesliga.

While the squad is experiencing its worst run of play since the 2004–05 season, Urs Fischer, the club’s 57-year-old manager, is in dire need of a significant outcome on Tuesday.

Although they lost 3-2 at home to Real Madrid in their most recent encounter, Napoli hasn’t exactly been outstanding in the competition this year. However, they are now in second place in Group C, level on points with Braga in third place. On matchday one, they defeated Braga thanks to a late own goal.

Before the international break, Rudi Garcia’s position was questioned following the Blues’ back-to-back losses to Real Madrid and Fiorentina; nonetheless, the head coach has been retained for the time being.

In Serie A on Saturday, the Italian champions defeated Hellas Verona 3-1. As a result, they are now five points behind leaders Inter Milan in fifth place in the rankings.

In their 22 prior European matches against German opponents, Napoli has won eight, drawn five, and lost nine of them. On the road, they have three victories, three ties, and five losses.

The 2022–2023 season turned out to be the team’s most successful European run, as they advanced to the competition’s quarterfinals before falling to local rivals AC Milan. Meanwhile, Gli Azzurri have won seven of their last nine Champions League group stage games.
