Musheer ton leads Mumbai’s recovery in the Ranji Quarterfinals

(Cricket News) The Quarter Finals of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 are underway. Mumbai playing against Baroda recovered well to end the first day of the crucial game at 248/5. Musheer Khan India’s U19 sensation led the way for Mumbai and ensured that they well and truly stay in the game.

Mumbai opting to bat started well with a 57-run opening stand. Prithvi Shaw played some crisp shots and scored a handful of boundaries. B Bhatt broke the partnership dismissing the dangerous looking Shaw. He further added to the wounds of the hosts dismissing the other opener Lalwani and Mumbai’s skipper Rahane.

Ajinkya Rahane’s poor run continued as he was again dismissed for a single digit score. Mumbai further lost 2 more wickets and slipped to 142/5 inside the first two session of the big game. It was then Musheer and Hardik Tamore, who got together in the 45th over and ensured that there were no further setbacks to their side.

They both remained unbeaten at Stumps, and put on a watchful 106-run stand. Musheer Khan scored a wonderful ton (128 off 216 balls) while Hardik contributed 30 off 163 balls.
