Mominul’s fifty helps Bangladesh reach 184/5 at tea

Mirpur, Dec 22 (PTI) Mominul Haque hit an unbeaten half-century to help Bangladesh reach 184 for five at tea on the opening day of the second Test against India here on Thursday.

Mominul was batting on 65 off 121 balls at the break.

Bangladesh lost both their openers Najmul Hossain Shanto (24) and Zakir Hasan (15) in the morning session before Indian bowlers dismissed three more batters — skipper Shakib Al Hasan (16), Mushfiqur Rahim (26) and Litton Das (25) — in the post-lunch period.

Pacer Jaydev Unadkat (2/40) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2/52) picked up two wickets each.

At the final break of the day, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (9 not out) was giving Mominul company at the crease.
