Mohsin Naqvi elected as new PCB chairman

(Cricket news) State of Punjab’s acting chief minister, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has been elected as the new chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Naqvi will have a term of three years, which is all set to begin from Tuesday (06/02/2024).

The PCB’s Board of Governors elected him unchallenged and he became the 37th Chairman of the PCB. A meeting of the BoG led by the temporary chairman Shah Khawar at National Cricket Academy in Lahore conducted the election.

PCB after 2022 finally gets a full-time chairman in the form of Naqvi. Zaka Ashraf was the last interim chairman of the board, who stepped down on the 19th of January.

Naqvi has worked in the media network and was a part of CNN in the USA. He also owns his own media channel in Pakistan, named 24 News.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been unanimously elected as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. I am thankful for the trust and confidence reposed in me. I am fully committed to upgrading the standard of the game in the country and bringing professionalism in the administration of cricket in Pakistan,” Naqvi said.
