Matthew Short ruled out of the Final ODI against West Indies

(Cricket news) The Australian batter Matthew Short has been ruled out of the 3rd ODI against West Indies. Short suffered a low-grade hamstring injury in the 2nd match at the SCG. He made 41 with the bat but was unable to field after suffering the injury while batting.

Ben McDermott the Queensland batter has been called into Australia’s ODI squad as a replacement. He has been recalled in the ODI squad for the first time since the tour of Pakistan in March-April 2022. His last assignment for Australia was in the T20 series against India where he a very good half century in Bengaluru.

Spencer Johnson has also been called into the squad, while Josh Hazelwood has been rested for the last ODI. Josh will join the T20I squad in Hobart following the conclusion the ODI series where Australia would want to white wash West Indies.

Xavier Bartlett the fast bowler, who made his debut at the MCG is also likely to return in the Australian 11 after being rested for the Sydney Game. Bartlett had a wonderful start to his International career, being awarded the Man of the Match award in his debut game at Melbourne.
