(Football news) Alexis Sanchez has completed his move to Marseille. Sanchez had 1 year left on his contract at Inter Milan but the club and the player mutually decided to terminate it. The attacker will be Marseille's 10th signing of the summer as they get ready to play in the Champions League after a two year absence. Sanchez hasn't been able to become an out and out started for Inter Milan in the 2 years he has been at the club but he has had a few moments. The Chilean’s contract at Marseille will run till 2024. Sanchez is 33 years old and still has the ability to produce the goods at the big stage for a few more years. 

Sanchez was among the best players in the world at Arsenal but everything has been downhill since his move to Manchester United. He has failed to be a first team regular for some time now but that could change at Marseille. Dimitri Payet, Cedric Bakambu, Arkaduisz Milik, Cengiz Under and Luis Suarez are the forwards who will be competing with Sanchez for the 3 spots and becoming first choice will be very difficult. Marseille will have a jam packed schedule as they are playing in the Champions League along with the Ligue 1. Last season was a great success for Marseille as they finished 2nd in the league but they were still 15 points behind champions Paris Saint Germain. 

Sanchez will be looking to bring his big match experience to Marseille. His hold up play and ability to unlock defences is a massive strength. His fitness is a big question mark he is no longer used to playing full games back to back. Marseille have already started the season with a win against Reims. Sanchez will most probably make his debut against Brest in the 2nd match of the season. He will most likely come off the bench and it will be interesting to see how many minutes he gets. There is a good chance that it will take some time before Sanchez is given a start.
