Manchester United will Nottingham in EPL

Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, two Premier League clubs looking to build on their Boxing Day victories, meet on Saturday at the City Ground

(Football news) The previous time out, both teams overcame a deficit to win all three points: the Tricky Trees defeated Newcastle United 3-1 on the road, while the Red Devils defeated Aston Villa 3-2 at Old Trafford.

Nuno Espirito Santo successfully led his new team to an incredible comeback victory against Newcastle on Boxing Day, just four days after Nottingham Forest lost his first game under his new management to an in-form Bournemouth.

After Alexander Isak scored the game’s first goal, Chris Wood terrorized his old team by scoring a fantastic hat-trick to help the Tricky Trees snap a seven-game losing streak in the Premier League. After Luton Town’s victory at Sheffield United, they are still two points above the relegation zone and occupy the 17th spot in the standings.

Although Santo has admitted that his Forest team is still “learning” under his guidance, they don’t have much time to celebrate their victory on Tuesday since they have to concentrate fast on a “tough one” against Man United, an opponent they haven’t had much luck against in a while.

In fact, throughout the course of the last 28 years, Forest has lost all 11 of their encounters with the Red Devils, including all four of those encounters at the City Ground by a combined score of 17-1.

The only Premier League victory Forest has ever had over Man United was at Old Trafford in December 1994 (2-1), while their last success at home against the Red Devils was in March 1992 (1-0), thanks to a goal by Nigel Clough.

Man United’s seasonal woes appeared about to continue as Aston Villa took a two-goal lead inside the first 26 minutes of Tuesday’s encounter at Old Trafford, snapping a four-game winless streak without a goal in all categories.

But thanks to a brace from Alejandro Garnacho in the second half and a goal in the 82nd minute from Rasmus Hojlund, who scored his first Premier League goal at the 15th attempt, the Red Devils pulled off a remarkable comeback against their title-chasing opponents.
