(Football news) Manchester United will enter the match off the back of a sensational 5-4 victory over Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday night, which saw them advance to the semi-finals courtesy of a 7-6 aggregate success.

Ruben Amorim’s side have had a disastrous season in the league, though, with 38 points from 32 matches leaving them down in 14th spot in the Premier League table.

Here, let’s round up Manchester United’s injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Wolves, who will enter the contest off the back of four straight wins in England’s top flight.

Lisandro Martinez
Status: Out

Type of injury: Knee

Possible return date: Unknown

Martinez suffered a severe knee injury during Man United’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace on February 2, and the Argentina international is expected to be on the sidelines for the remainder of 2025.

Jonny Evans
Status: Major doubt

Type of injury: Muscle

Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Wolves)

Experienced centre-back Evans has recently returned to training after recovering from a long-term muscular problem, and there is a chance that he could be among the substitutes for the clash with Wolves.

Amad Diallo
Status: Out

Type of injury: Ankle

Possible return date: May 3 (vs. Brentford)

Amad suffered an ankle injury during a training session in February, which had seemingly ended this season, but it is understood that the attacker could be back on the field at the start of May.

Ayden Heaven
Status: Major doubt

Type of injury: Knock

Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Wolves)

The ankle injury that Heaven suffered against Leicester City before the international break was not as serious as first feared, and the centre-back was back on the bench against Newcastle last weekend, but he missed out against Lyon due to a knock, and it remains to be seen if he is available for the clash with Wolves.

Matthijs de Ligt

Status: Out

Type of injury: Foot

Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Bournemouth)

De Ligt has now missed Manchester United’s last four matches with a foot injury, but the Netherlands international is due to return to training next week, so he could feature against Bournemouth on April 27.

Joshua Zirkzee

Status: Out

Type of injury: Hamstring

Possible return date: Unknown

Manchester United will be missing Zirkzee for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, with the Netherlands international picking up a hamstring injury during the team’s loss to Newcastle in the Premier League last weekend.

Toby Collyer

Status: Out

Type of injury: Leg

Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Bournemouth)

Collyer will again be unavailable for selection this weekend due to “a small issue in his leg”, but the midfielder could potentially return for the clash with Bournemouth at the end of the month.

MANCHESTER UNITED’S SUSPENSION LIST

Manchester United have no players suspended for this match.
