Manchester United receive shocking interest from PL rivals for Rashford

Marcus Rashford, a Manchester United outcast, is apparently being pursued by West Ham United

(Football news) The Hammers, now managed by Graham Potter following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui, will likely consider bolstering their attacking options as a result of injuries sustained to key players.

Michael Antonio is facing a lengthy period on the sidelines after sustaining a broken leg, that required surgery in a car accident last month.

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, meanwhile, suffered a fractured foot in his team’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on December 29 and is eyeing a return at some stage next month.

In the meantime, Niclas Fullkrug and Danny Ings will battle for starts as a central striker, as Mohammed Kudus, Crysensio Summerville and Lucas Paqueta provide support in attack, but it seems that the Hammers are now exploring a move for Rashford.

West Ham keeping tabs on Rashford situation

According to multiple reports, West Ham have asked to be kept informed on Rashford’s situation, with the attacker facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old admitted in December that he is ready for a ‘new challenge’ and Manchester United will consider selling the academy graduate in January if they receive ‘top offers’ for his services.

However, Manchester United are said to be resigned to the fact that they will struggle to sell Rashford this month, and a loan exit now appears to be the most likely option for the attacker.

It is claimed that West Ham would consider a loan move for Rashford this month, but they are aware that the England international is more likely to join a top European club.

Who could rival West Ham for Rashford?

Rashford is understood to have already turned down three offers to move to the Saudi Pro League, as well as an opportunity to join Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan for the rest of the season.

A move abroad has not been ruled out, though, as the player’s agent and brother Dwaine Maynard was in Italy earlier this week holding talks with both AC Milan and Juventus.

Borussia Dortmund are another club believed to be in the running for Rashford, and talks with the Bundesliga club over a loan move are expected to take place.

West Ham, meanwhile, are not the only English club that have been credited with an interest in Rashford, as Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen to secure the services of Manchester United’s No. 10 on a temporary basis.

Rashford, who did not train with Manchester United on Wednesday due to the illness, has not played for the Red Devils in any of their last six games across all competitions after first being left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad for the 2-1 derby win over Manchester City on December 15.
