According to reports, Manchester United and Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee have agreed on a deal
Manchester

(Football news) The 23-year-old has been playing for Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands team in Euro 2024 in Germany for the past month. The team is vying for continental supremacy. Regretfully, England defeated Oranje to go to the final against Spain on Sunday in Berlin thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins.

Prior to making his one-minute appearance on Wednesday night in Dortmund, Zirkzee was not used as a substitute in any of the first five games of this nation’s campaign. The young player was not chosen above Memphis Depay or Wout Weghorst to spearhead the Netherlands’ offensive line, despite his outstanding Serie A performances the previous season.

Manchester United ‘reach’ agreement for Bologna’s Zirkzee

Manchester United are closing in on their first signing of the 2024 summer transfer window. The report claims that the Red Devils have agreed a deal with Italian side Bologna for Zirkzee, who is set for a lucrative move to England.

It is understood that Erik ten Hag’s side will pay just over €40m (£33.6m) for the 23-year-old, with the transfer to be announced by the club imminently.

Zirkzee is said to have agreed on personal terms with Man United, and the Netherlands international will be contracted to the Theatre of Dreams club until at least 2029.

The Red Devils are also believed to possess the option to extend the striker’s terms by a further 12 months, keeping him on his supposed deal until 2030.

Manchester United’s first signing of a new era

Should the signing of Zirkzee be announced in the coming days, the Dutch attacker will be the first player arrival of the INEOS era at Man United.

The group, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, assumed control of footballing operations at the club during the early part of 2024, with the Glazer Family selling a significant stake in the Red Devils.

With Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund already at Old Trafford, Man United are beginning to collect some of Europe’s most promising forward players.

There are set to be serious reinforcements at the other end of the pitch, too, with Everton Jarrad Branthwaite and Lille’s Leny Yoro being chased by Ten Hag’s side.
