(Football news) It was revealed over the weekend that the Red Devils were thinking of making a surprise move for Benzema in the midst of ongoing calls to reinforce their attacking ranks halfway through the season.

Premiere summer recruitment Under Erik ten Hag, Rasmus Hojlund has only managed two Premier League goals, and Anthony Martial, who is currently out of favor, has been absent for several weeks due to an undisclosed health issue.

Martial is reportedly seeking “medical treatment,” but Ten Hag has not revealed the specifics of his condition. The Frenchman will presumably be sidelined for some time.

When his contract expires at the end of the month, Martial is also anticipated to leave Old Trafford, despite the fact that the former Monaco player reportedly prefers to stay and compete for a spot in the second half of the season rather than leave during the current transfer window.

Despite Hojlund’s difficulties in the Premier League and the uncertainty surrounding Martial’s future, Manchester United does not intend to attempt to entice Benzema to the Premier League this month.

Unexpectedly, the 36-year-old decided to end his illustrious Real Madrid career during the summer in order to play for Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Pro League winners, where he has made 20 appearances and scored 12 goals and provided five assists.

Even though Benzema has made a significant impact, Al-Ittihad’s title defence has not gone well. With 28 points from 18 games, they are a startling 25 points behind leaders Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League standings.

With Benzema missing out on a winter training camp, it is said that his relationship with Marcelo Gallardo has broken down. Al-Ittihad has lost its last three Premier League games.

Since then, Benzema has been left out of Al-Ittihad’s trip to Dubai. Although he still has a contract with Al-Ittihad through the conclusion of the 2025–2026 season, his future in Saudi Arabia is becoming less and less assured.
