Manchester City receive price for Real Madrid’s midfielder

Manchester City has discovered the price they would need to pay to finalize a trade for Eduardo Camavinga, a midfielder for Real Madrid
Manchester

(Football news) Pep Guardiola started a transitional period for City during the winter transfer window by making four new additions, including that of Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez.

The 23-year-old has since gone on to make seven starts and one substitute outing for City, highlighting that he has a regular role to play for Guardiola going forward.

However, there are several Manchester City midfielders who could depart the Etihad Stadium during the summer transfer window, including the likes of Mateo Kovacic and Ilkay Gundogan.

A scenario would naturally arise where Guardiola and the club’s recruitment team would target younger alternatives, and it appears that a Real Madrid star may be on their radar.

Manchester City learn Camavinga price?

According to multiple reports, Manchester City are aware of what it would take to have a chance of securing a deal for Camavinga.

The report alleges that Real Madrid would only contemplate the sale of the France international if they receive a bid of at least £70m.

With the 22-year-old on a contract at the Bernabeu until 2029, Los Blancos do not have to be in any rush to consider offers for the versatile player.

Furthermore, it remains to be seen whether Camavinga would have any interest in departing the La Liga giants at this stage of his career.

What would Ancelotti’s stance be?

Given that Camavinga has been used in several roles during his reign, it is highly likely that Carlo Ancelotti will be eager to retain his services.

Although Camavinga has only made 16 starts and 11 substitute outings during 2024-25, he has been used at left-back and in central midfield, as well as only being restricted more game time due to injury.

Despite his age, he already has 173 appearances for Real Madrid under his belt, emphasizing his importance to the squad when game time comes thick and fast.

With Luka Modric likely to leave the club in one of the next three transfer windows now that he has reached 39 years of age, Ancelotti and club officials may also be against further upheaval at this stage.
