Man United look for their third consecutive win in the Premier League

(Football news) Manchester United will travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in the Premier League, hoping to get three consecutive victories after their disastrous start. Leicester City meanwhile are currently rock bottom of the league table with three losses and a draw out of the four games played so far and will be desperate to get a win in front of their home crowd. Brendan Rogers needs a response from his team and fast but will take solace from the fact that his team are unbeaten against Manchester United in five matches so far.

While Manchester United had an unconvincing performance against Southampton, Ten Hag can take solace in the fact that they looked defensively solid and managed to salvage a win in what was undoubtedly a tricky fixture. The mood around the club has changed dramatically since the win over Liverpool and the club has announced Brazilian winger Antony as their fifth signing of the summer for a fee of £85.5m. While the 22 year old is unlikely to feature in this particular match, there is an atmosphere of optimism in Erik ten Hag’s dressing room at the moment as Cristiano Ronaldo is also expected to stay at least until January.

In team news, James Maddison might be on the substitutes bench against Manchester United with Brendan Rodgers saying that he was “hopeful” about the midfielders fitness. Boubakary Soumare could be dropped in favor of Wilfred Ndidi while Ayoze Perez could play on the right side. While anything can happen on transfer deadline day, Youri Tielemans is expected to feature in central midfield unless the Belgian is on the verge of moving from the club. As for Manchester United, Casemiro is expected to feature in the starting XI for Scott McTominay while Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to remain on the bench despite Marcus Rashford being in very poor form. Anthony Martial is currently injured and won’t be available for selection while Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are expected to remain on the bench.
