Real Madrid get 2nd pre-season win as they beat Manchester United 2-0

New signings Jude Bellingham and Joselu score as Real Madrid get clinical win in Houston

(Football news) Real Madrid continued their winning run in pre-season as they defeated Manchester United 2-0. Carlo Ancelotti flipped his starting line-up around a little as he went with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo up front. Jude Bellingham was at the tip of a midfield diamond with Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric behind.

Arda Guler once again couldn’t get fit in time but he could feature in the El Clasico. The 4-3-1-2 system is progressing well but it still needs a little polishing. Real Madrid may not need it at all if Kylian Mbappe ends up arriving but that is as always very difficult to predict.

Real Madrid opened the scoring inside 6 minutes as Antonio Rudiger found Jude Bellingham with a precise long ball. The English midfielder chipped the ball over Andre Onana to score his first goal for Los Blancos. Things became worse for Manchester United as academy product Kobbie Mainoo was forced off due to an injury.

Manchester United did have their chances to score but the absence of a proper striker was clearly visible.pBellingham has settled in very well as he is creating an impact and he looks very happy. Things are bound to get complicated at some point but the early signs are very good.

Joselu came on in the 62nd minute and missed a couple of chances early on. He more than made up for it as he scored an audacious bicycle kick. Despite being in pre-season both teams showed great intensity and it made the game an entertaining one.

The good news for the Merengues is that apart from Arda Guler’s minor overload there are no other injury issues. Real Madrid will now prepare for the El Clasico game at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The preseason is already a success for Los Blancos but a win against their arch rivals FC Barcelona would set up the season really well.
