Liverpool and Tottenham go head to head for a crucial game in the top 4 race

Liverpool will be looking to continue their momentum as the host Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield

(Football news) Liverpool are finally showing their quality after an underwhelming season. Jurgen Klopp’s men have won their last 3 games in the league. They still have a chance to secure Champions League football for next season but it is very complicated. Liverpool will take on Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday. Spurs are currently just 1 point ahead of Liverpool who do have a game in hand. Tottenham recovered from the humiliating 6-1 loss against Newcastle by coming back from 2-0 down to draw against Manchester United. A win at Anfield could switch things up for Spurs but Anfield is a different beast altogether.

Liverpool will be without Stefan Bajcetic, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Calvin Ramsay but Ibrahima Konate who missed the game against West Ham should be back. After an Injury plagued season Klopp now has a lot of options especially in attack so he has to make some tough calls. As for Tottenham Hotspur long term absentees Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Emerson Royal are all still out of contention. Lucas Moura is back from suspension but Hugo Lloris may need some more time to recover. Dejan Kulusevski could come back into the line-up after Richarlison failed to impress in the last game.

Liverpool cannot afford to drop points in this game otherwise they could even drop down to the Europa Conference League. This fixture along with the one against Aston Villa are probably the two toughest ones remaining mainly because both those teams are fighting for a European spot. Klopp has publicly said that there will be multiple signings in midfield but without European football things will get very complicated in the transfer market. Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand will take any positives at this point because this season has been a disaster. Their biggest challenge will be off the field in regards to who their manager will be.
