Liverpool look to bounce back as they take on Chelsea away from home

Liverpool and Chelsea are both in turmoil and will be looking to get back to winning ways
Liverpool Vs Chelsea

(Football news) Liverpool on the weekend lost 4-1 to Manchester City which was their 3rd consecutive defeat. It seemed like the Merseyside club had gotten back to form after a 7-0 win against Manchester United but that isn’t the case. Liverpool will now travel to London for a match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea themselves are struggling massively as they have now dropped to the bottom half of the table. Before the international break they did get 3 consecutive wins including a win over Borussia Dortmund to qualify for the Champions League quarter finals. However the loss on the weekend against Aston Villa has resulted in the dismissal of Graham Potter.

Now Chelsea will be managed by Bruno Saltor till a new manager is appointed. The London club’s injury problems are still there as they will be without Armando Broja, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Edouard Mendy and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The good news is that Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana could return to the bench while N’Golo Kante could get a start having played as a substitute against Aston Villa. The biggest problem at Chelsea is that there are a lot of players in the squad. Graham Potter lost his job trying to figure out his best team and it won’t be easy for Saltor to do that.

Liverpool on the other hand will be without long-term absentees Calvin Ramsay, Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic. Luis Diaz has been training with the team and there is a good chance that he returns to the bench. Liverpool’s defence is looking very weak at the moment. Trent Alexander-Arnold is getting exposed at right back which may force Jurgen Klopp to bench him while even Virgil Van Dijk is making a lot of mistakes at the back. Liverpool need to win to stay in the top 4 race while Chelsea could get into a relegation battle if things don’t improve.
