(Football news) Manchester United are the only team who have defeated Arsenal in the Premier League this season and the two sides are set to face each other again, this time at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners will be looking for revenge with a victory taking them 11 points ahead of Erik ten Hag’s side while victory for Manchester United will take them closer to local rivals Manchester City, who are 2nd. It’s fair to say that Arsenal have been in sublime form this season and the Gunners are on the verge of breaking the 50 point mark halfway through the season, which means that if this continues they could match Man City’s centurions of 2017-18.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently unbeaten in 12 games, winning 10 of them and have not conceded a single goal since the turn of the year. However, Manchester United are absolutely no pushovers, defeating reigning champions Manchester City 2-1 in their last Premier League match and enter into this fixture with a 16 game scoring streak. In-form Marcus Rashford looks to be in the best form of his career and will undoubtedly pose a threat to Arsenal but the absence of Casemiro might prove to be a big miss for Manchester United.

In team news for Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus remains unavailable due to a knee injury while Reiss Nelson is also unlikely to feature due to a hamstring issue. The likes of Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares will be doubtful for this fixture after picking up knocks but the pair’s involvement in this fixture was miniscule anyway, even if they were fully fit. New signing Leandro Trossard could make his debut for Arsenal against Manchester United after the club managed to register him before 12 pm on Friday.

As for Manchester United, Casemiro will be unavailable for selection due to suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season which means Fred could replace his countryman in midfield, partnering with Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes. Jadon Sancho has returned to training and could potentially feature in this fixture but Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial are doubtful. New signing Wout Weghorst could potentially start this fixture in Martial’s absence, in which case Marcus Rashford will feature as a left winger.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:

Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah

Manchester United possible starting lineup:

De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Eriksen, Fred; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst
