Yashasvi Jaiswal is now ranked No. 12 among Test batsmen by the ICC, while Joe Root has risen to No. 3 following his first century during England’s current tour of India.

Root moved up two spots and into the top three with his unbeaten 122 in the fourth Test, his first significant at-bat performance of the series. In terms of Test all-rounders, his performances as an off-spinner have also elevated him to No. 4.

World No. 2 R Ashwin has cut the gap to World No. 1 Jasprit Bumrah in the Test bowling rankings to only 21 rating points. Ashwin got five wickets in the second innings of the Ranchi Test to set up India’s triumph, having missed portions of the Rajkot Test due to personal matters. Bumrah had taken a nap. Kagiso Rabada is third behind the two, followed by Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins, two Australians.
