(Golf news) The Ladies European Tour in 2023 will offer a prize pool of £31m, a substantial increase from 24.5m euros (£21.6m) in 2022. The tour will take place across 21 countries in 30 events with September’s Solheim Cup being staged in Finca Cortesin in Spain. The season finale is Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana and will take place in November. Last season, Sweden’s Linn Grant held off Maja Stark to top the standings at the end of last season and both will be key as Europe attempts to win their third straight Solheim win over the United States.

The season will start in Kenya in the first week of February and the Aramco Saudi Ladies International will feature a prize fund of $5m (£4.2m). July and August will feature four co-sanctioned tournaments: the Amundi Evian Championship, Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open, AIG Women’s Open and ISPS Handa World Invitational. The Aramcio Tour Series event in July will take place at Hertfordshire’s Centurion Club.

“Thanks to our partners, promoters, host venues and fans, 2023 is going to be an incredibly exciting year for the LET. This year’s Race to Costa del Sol showcased the outstanding skill of our players and there will be even higher profile opportunities for our role models to shine next year, with more total prize money than at any time in our history. The LET now presents a platform for women to build a successful career and achieve their dreams in professional golf. We will continue to work hard to elevate the sport in Europe and around the world.”
