Under Vincent Kompany’s direction, Bayern Munich has started a new initiative following a disappointing season.  The Bavarian leadership decided to make a significant revamp of a team that had lost its dominance in Germany to Bayer Leverkusen.

 But things have drastically changed this season.  Despite early skepticism, the Munich team has improved on their performance from the previous season and is currently poised to win the Bundesliga.  The domestic league is their only chance to win a trophy after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Inter Milan and the DFB Pokal by Bayer Leverkusen.

They are really near to accomplishing their objective in this situation.  This past weekend was a huge lift for the Bavarians.  While Leverkusen, the Bundesliga’s second-place team, faltered and only managed to earn a point against St. Pauli, Bayern displayed unrelenting domination over Heidenheim after their European failure.

Bayern is only a few steps away from winning the league title as a result of these results.  Bayern is eight points clear of their rivals, Leverkusen, in the standings with four games left.  In fact, if they defeat Mainz in their upcoming game and Leverkusen loses to Augsburg, they might be named champions.

 All of the Munich team would surely be happy to receive this trophy, but one player in particular will feel a great sense of relief.  Harry Kane is the player in question.

The ‘curse’ that has been cast around the 31-year-old English forward is about to be lifted.  He has never taken home a title in his career.  He reached multiple finals at Tottenham, but despite his best efforts, he was unable to bring any hardware home to the Spurs.  With two previous losses in the Euro final, his fortunes with the English national team haven’t improved.

It appeared like this drought would finally end when they arrived in Munich.  But then something unexpected happened.  He participated in four separate events in his debut season wearing the Bayern shirt—the German Supercup, Bundesliga, Champions League, and DFB Pokal—but he did not win a single championship.

 However, he is now in danger of ending this regrettable run.  He will soon be able to enjoy the exhilarating thrill of lifting a trophy, which is unmatched in the football world.  The curse of Harry Kane is about to be lifted.
