Following Juventus’ elimination from the Champions League due to a 3–4 aggregate loss to PSV in the playoffs, Thiago Motta’s job at the club is in jeopardy.
Football Italia, quoting La Gazzetta dello Sport, claims that management will be closely monitoring the Juventus head coach for the rest of the season. For the Italian, making it to the Round of 16 was a must, and going farther would have earned the Bianconeri more than €11 million.
In the past, Juventus lost to AC Milan in the semifinals and did not go to the Super Cup final. The squad is now ranked fourth in Serie A and is still competing in the Coppa Italia. It has been mentioned that Motta needs to guarantee his place in the Champions League for the upcoming season.
For the record, the 42-year-old manager signed a three-year contract with Juventus last summer.
