Juventus lose to Empoli but Milan clubs assert their dominance over their opponents

(Football news) The Serie A season has begun with the most dramatic outcome with Juventus getting only 1 point out of two matches but the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Roma all won their two matches to distance themselves from Juventus already.

Juventus surprisingly lost to Empoli 1-0 in what was a very disappointing performance from the ‘old lady’. Massimiliano Allegri’s side didn't really get the grip of the game as only Fedrico Cheisa was conjuring up opportunities for Juventus but they finally fell behind after Leonardo Mancuso scored for Empoli in the opening 20 minutes. The old lady didn't really assert their dominance over possession which ultimately cost them the game. The added departure of Cristiano Ronaldo did not help them as they looked really short up front, Juventus have since tried to rectify this by buying back Moise Kean from Everton

The former champions Inter Milan won against Hellas Verona 3-1 in what was an evenly fought contest between the two clubs. The first half was completely dominated by Verona as they took an early lead through Ivan Ilic but the story of the second half was completely different as they got completely outplayed by the Nerrazuri’s. Lautaro Martinez quickly equalised at the beginning of the first half , then new signing Joaquin Correa stole the show by scoring two goals on his debut in the dying moments.

AC Milan won comfortably against Cagliari 4-1, Stefan Poli’s side were at their rampant best as they put four past Cagliari in the first half only. New boy Olivier Giroud got two goals in his home debut for the club after Sandro Tonali scored a wonderful free kick to give the Rossoneri the lead. AC Milan will be looking to continue this form after the international break as their two star players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie will return from injury.

AS Roma won 4-0 against Salernitana in a match which saw Jose Mourniho’s side win without any trouble. Tammy Abraham was again the star of the show as he got his first goal for AS Roma in what was a very dominant performance from him. All the goals came in the second half as they opened their scoring with the help of Lorenzo Pellegrini which was further doubled by Jordan Veretout.
