(Football News) Juventus earlier this season failed to make it past the group stage of the Champions League. They were relegated to the Europa League but have since recovered their form. Juventus defeated Nantes, Freiburg, and Sporting Lisbon to reach the semi-finals where they will play Sevilla. The Spanish side just like Juventus, were relegated to the Europa League. Sevilla defeated PSV, Fenerbahce, and Manchester United to make it to the semi-finals. The first leg will be at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
Juventus will be without the injured Mattia De Sciglio and Gleison Bremer while Leandro Parades will return after being suspended on the weekend. Massimiliano Allegri will have to choose between Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik to start upfront. Sevilla on the other hand will be without Tanguy Nianzou and Suso who are both injured. Lucas Ocampos, Fernando, and Erik Lamela are traveling with the team but their availability is a doubt due to fitness concerns.
Jose Mourinho last season led AS Roma to a Conference League win which was their first-ever European trophy. Now Roma have another opportunity to play a European final. Roma finished 2nd in their group behind Real Betis. On their way to the semi-final, they beat RB Salzburg, Real Sociedad, and Feyenoord. They will now face Bayer Leverkusen who dropped down from the Champions League. They then beat Monaco, Ferencvaros, and Union St. Gilloise to reach the semi-finals. Mourinho will be facing his former player Xabi Alonso on the touchline.
Roma will be without Chris Smalling and Marash Kumbulla while Paolo Dybala and Gini Wijnaldum are set to return. As for Bayer Leverkusen Andrey Lunev, Patrik Schick and Charles Aranguiz. Roma lost 2-0 at the weekend to Inter while Leverkusen also lost 2-1 to FC Koln. Both the teams are not in the top four in their league so a Europa League win is their best shot at a Champions League qualification.
