JioCinema breaks the concurrent viewership record during Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians

JioCinema, the TATA IPL's official digital streaming partner, broke a new record with 2.57 billion concurrent viewers

(Cricket news) JioCinema, the TATA IPL’s official digital streaming partner, broke a record by earning 2.57 crore. In the first innings of Gujarat Titans vs. Mumbai Indians’ Qualifier 2 match, which was being watched simultaneously by fans, Shubman Gill scored an incredible century. In Qualifier 1 between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on Tuesday night, JioCinema equaled a world record that had previously been achieved during India vs. New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC 2019 World Cup. Gill’s knock and Titans captain Hardik Pandya’s late flurry quickly broke that record.

JioCinema’s TATA IPL 2023 presentation has consistently broken records and set new standards practically every week throughout the season, demonstrating the preference of cricket fans. On April 17, 2.4 Cr. spectators gathered at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to watch MS Dhoni’s CSK defend against a furious run chase from Royal Challengers Bangalore. This record was established after surpassing the one set on April 12th, when a peak concurrency of 2.2 Cr. was reached, once more as Dhoni came dangerously close to committing another theft against Rajasthan Royals.

“We are thrilled to announce that JioCinema has set a ground-breaking milestone by breaking the world record of concurrent viewers on digital,” said Viacom18 Sports CEO Anil Jayaraj. “It is a testament to our constant endeavour of offering unparalleled experience of TATA IPL to fans and viewers across every corner of the country. The achievement reinforces our commitment to deliver world-class sports action, no matter the scale, and motivates us to constantly push the boundaries of live sports streaming.”

Along with thrilling match action, JioCinema’s repeat record-rumble also benefits from a number of fan-focused features, including free streaming for all network subscribers, 4K streaming, 12-language commentary, and the free-to-play Jeeto Dhan Dhana Dhan contest, which offers thrilling prizes for every match, including a car.

JioCinema registered more than 1500 Cr. video views in the first seven weeks of the TATA IPL 2023, continuing to set worldwide standards in the realm of digital sports viewing. The average amount of time per viewer every match on JioCinema reached 60 minutes, demonstrating how riveted viewers were to the thrilling action.  In the first five weeks, IPL 2023 on Connected TV attracted twice as many views as it did on HD TV.

JioCinema has 26 top brands partnering for their digital streaming of TATA IPL 2023, including (Co-Presenting Sponsor) Dream11, (Co-Powered) JioMart, PhonePe, Tiago EV, Jio (Associate Sponsor) Appy Fizz, ET Money, Castrol, TVS, Oreo, Bingo, Sting, AJIO, Haier, RuPay, Louis Philippe Jeans, Amazon, Rapido, Ultra Tech Cement, Puma, Kamla Pasand, Kingfisher Power Soda, Jindal Panther TMT Rebar, Saudi Tourism, Spotify and AMFI.
